Katie Holmes didn’t feel like she had much of a choice when it came to taking on the starring role in Guillermo del Toro’s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark. As she told Charlie Rose last night, “When it comes to Guillermo, you say yes because it’s Guillermo — he’s incredible.”

Fel -if you have a minute can you tell us a few of your thoughts about DBAOTD.
Like I said i liked it alot, and thoght the movie was worth the admission. I remember reading an review while back that said the Guy and Katie did not seem be a good couple but I did not see that at all. There was no deep character development but I did not see the need for it it was not about the human characters it was about the characters in the dark, I think if they would have tried to develop the characters too much it would not have been a scarey movie it would have been a movie with a few scarey parts. Maybe they did not want a scene stealer. In the theater people screamed and made noices (like it scared or creeped them out) at appropiate parts and all through you had an erie feeling. When I got home I had to make myself not think about it because it was around eleven and almost time for bed:)

Thank you Fel , much appreciate your thoughts. There have been so many wrong dates put out there when it’s coming out, but it’s the 3rd Nov. There will be lots of Katie movies in that month I think.
I’ve seen the terrible weather conditions and the havoc that it’s brought on the news. Even tho I feel sorry for what happens in those situations, I feel a little sorry that a 1000 cineamas were closed and DBAOTD couldn’t be shown.
Hope anyone here who has been affected by the cyclone is ok.
